RECIPE: Gluten Free Meatza
Updated: Nov 4
Ok, I know you've heard of pizza... but have you heard of meatza?
Yes, you read that right!
Meatza is basically the same thing as a pizza, but the crust is made from ground meat and spices.
When I first saw a recipe like this, I was hesitant.
In fact, it took me about 3 years before I took the leap and made a meatza for myself.
Now that I've tried it?
Well, let's just say there is NO going back!
In my (unbiased) opinion, there are 3 reasons you should at least try a meatza once.
Meatza is gluten free meal from start to finish. This is a game changer for anyone who is allergic to gluten, or gluten intolerant.
Meatza is a COMPLETE meal. Since the crust is made with meat, if you add vegetable toppings and a side salad...you are good to go!
Meatza is quick and easy to make at home AND budget friendly.
Meatza
Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 27 minutes
Total time: 37 minutes
Servings: 2-4
To make the gluten free meatza crust:

1 pound ground meat (chicken, turkey as they will have less fat drippings)
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
ground pepper
**optional 1/4 cup grated parmesan
cooking spray
*Spray a glass pie dish with cooking spray, flatten the meat mixture in the dish.
*Bake the crust at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
*When baked, drain the drippings.

For the meatza toppings:
1 jar pizza sauce, marinara sauce OR eggplant garlic spread
mushrooms, peppers, artichoke hearts, pepperoni
grated mozzarella
* Spread the sauce on top of the meat crust, add your toppings (just like you would for a pizza)
* Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese
* Bake at 350 for 7 minutes , just until cheese is melted
* Enjoy!
My personal recommendation is that you pair your meatza with a crisp, green salad to help balance your plate.
